If you're the kind of person who'd pay $30 for a Big Mac in Vegas cause McDonald's told you that you were a high roller, well then The Playhouse in Hollywood is your kind of club! I had the misfortune of finding myself in this epicenter of douchebaggery last Friday when I was invited there for a birthday party. Just to give you an idea of how cheesey this place is: The confetti machines over the dancefloor dump cheap burger-joint paper napkins instead of confetti. After paying $20 cover and $15 for apiece for drinks, all I needed was to have trash dumped on me while I'm dancing. By 12am or 1am, the place was inches-deep in a disgusting stew of beer-soaked napkins. Then there's the DJ hitting the climax button on his CD player every 30 seconds as if he'd just discovered the technique of dropping the bass out for the first time in his life. So every couple minutes, as his douchebag assistant pumps his fists in predictable anticipation.... SPLOOGE!! Out comes another wad of napkins!! Great time. Hollywood at its best.
by Mario Roskowinski on I travel to New York a few times a year with my friends from Boston, and usually we will definetely stopby for a few drinks (usually Friday/Saturday nights) before we head back home. The Soju they offer is really good especially their Apple and Lychee Soju. The bartenders, waitresses and the managers are very friendly with their customers. A very comfortable atmosphere to just hangout with your friends. Overall, the 3x I've been there, I can honestly say it was a really good experience.
