by Wendy G. on I was excited to see this place open near my office because we don't have much in the way of food options nearby. It looks like they're trying to follow the model of Prana across the street--restaurant by day, night club by night. It's a tight economy, and you do what you gotta do to pay the rent. It's not a place you'd actually want to eat. It's mostly dark and cavernous with riduculously bright lights shining here and there. There were two people in line ahead of me before I placed my order. I gave my order, and ended up waiting 25 minutes for my food. Not good considering the breakfast I was promised this morning didn't pan out. I was hungry and cranky. I ordered a Fat Shrimp taco. It was supposed to come with sour cream, guac, beans and cheese. I was also supposed to get a side of chips. When they gave me my food, I noticed the chips were missing from my bag so I asked for them. I got to the office with my lunch and found that my fat taco was not, in fact, a fat taco. They forgot the extra fixings. I also ordered a chicken tamale. There was a small collection of chicken in the bottom corner, and that was about it. It was mostly corn meal, and it was flavorless. I'll give them one more shot since they're still new and obviously working out the kinks. So far, I am not impressed.
by Wally Lennon on This place is a cesspool. I have been here a few times and I must say: 1. Everybody knows the line outside is not necessary. There is plenty of room inside. 2. The Headset toting, Asshole Bouncer's should move inside and monitor the line for the two restrooms (1 for the men and 1 for the women). Your party advertisements say 1500 guests, yet you have only 2 bathrooms. Never have I been to a straight club where there is a line to the Men's room. 3. Not so sure this club is straight, which is fine, if you are not female and hoping to meet men. 4. Drinks are overpriced 5. The straight men are creepy, scary.... When it gets crowded they paw and grab at you when you walk through the crowd. And you can get all this for an admission fee of $20! There are far better places to be seen than Opera.
