by Clark Braskett on I am not happy with that bar, because of the staff and the tricky deals they have. I went with a friend during their special 5-8pm(1/2 beer), when it got 20 min till 8pm, i wanted to order another beer, just so i don't have to pay double for it after. The bar-attender after about 10 min finally came to us, and she said she can't put the order because that is not in the bar's policy to "back you up with drinks", meaning you are not allowed to have 2 drinks at a time, however that is not written anywhere, and it is only a word of mouth, or by the approval of the manager. The next day I went again, but this time to try their burgers, I thought i will give them a second chance. They have another special 1/2 burgers from 11-2am, again it is not written in the manual that you have to order exact kind of burger. I ordered, had a beer and asked for the check, guess what, the check was with the full price of the burger. I asked the waitress why, she told me it is half off only for people in the Bar/Restaurant busyness. Again i was really disappointed with them and actually angry that they told me that after i ate it, they could have told that it is double. Overall the two times i went there, i had problems and it felt more like i was going to an auction having to beat down the surprise bill they server at the end. Please be VERY CAUTIOUS going there, I do not recommend it.
by Isaias Stubby on Oh how I love to hate Bubble Lounge. Friends decide to have their birthday shindigs here because there is no cover charge, the crowd is mixed and the place is decent. But I can't seem to ever have a good time here. It's nice when we have a booth or two or three, but the music is never all that great. Sometimes when the weather is not rainy, there is a long line outside and it seems like it will be impossible to get in. It is always great to be a girl and have lots of girlfriends with you so you can move to the front and beg the bouncers to let you in. The downstairs area is a bit claustrophobic, due to the low ceilings and it tends to get extremely stuffy and sweaty if you're are down there too long. I've learned to just chill upstairs where you can actually breathe. Too bad those smokers in the front cause large whiffs of stinkiness inside and all I want to do is find a mask to put on! I'm sure I'll be back to this place that I love to hate, just because there is no cover. Next time I hope that I don't get approached by guys who think it's ok to invade my space and put their arms around me!
by kristen c. on i liked this place. it had a different feel than most bars/clubs. and the only way i can possibly describe it... is... i felt like i was at a party rather than a bar/club. social... people tended to talk to each other a lot more than in normal bars where guys and gals just kinda wait for eye contact. there was a sense of familiarity with one another that you just don't get in boston or cambridge bars.
