New southern food options.  Been here twice in the past week.  First time sat at the bar (there were two of us) and had a couple cocktails and couple appetizers.  The beet salad was delicious and the fried green tomotoes were good (not great...but good). Second time sat at a booth (3 of us) and had a bunch of food to share.  The highlights were the chicken wings, Frito pie (perfect when if you are high), pulled pork sandwich.  The side dishes were really tiny, we had the greens and brussel sprouts, both of which were ok.  We also had the oyster po-boy which is also ok.  The parmesan fries are delicious, except they were luke-warm (we'd prefer they come out hot so the cheese can melt a little). The reasons I'm a fan (4 stars) is not so much the food alone, but the  dimmed lighting, cocktails, and opportunity for good snacks in a lounge setting.  I would do 3.5 if I could, i rounded up because the bartender guy was HOT. The prices were not bad at all either.

had a dinner there for my lovely gfs birthday. we had about 12 ppl.  made reservations. they require at least $20 minimum per person, not including the drinks. uhh okay..... then..... i brought the cutest cake for her.... they say they charge $5 per slice. wait wait..... say what???? did they just say they're going to charge me $5 for every slice they cut out of my OWN cake. the cake that i bought somewhere else??? !#@#%@!!!!!! greedy bastards! how in the hell can u charge someone for bringing their own cake. that is UNBELIEVABLE. the waiter was great tho. he was super nice and super gracious. he knew it was stupid to charge us. don't want to get him in trouble. went to the club downstairs. been there before. its cute. but after a while it's kind of boring. the stupid dj plays the stupidest songs. he would play a good song.. going going.... PAUSE. plays a slow ugly old song. wtf? r u kidding me? how can ppl dance like that? ur hyping up the crowd and then u just stop the song out of nowhere to a slow one and expect ppl to transition their dance moves? u can see the crowd at first all happy and excited.. then when the music stops everyone looks around like how do i dance to this? not to mention they stopped the music completely and we're standing around wondering what the hell is going on. then all of  a sudden we see 3-4 white guys jump up on the tiny stage and started rapping,....... OH..... MY..... GOD....... it's Crazytown. the white rapper dudes that sings "come my lady.. come come my lady... you're my butterfly... sugah..... baby....." uggggghhhhhhhh....... they wouldnt stop rapping. the crowd got annoyed. we wanna dance! not some boring performance! the dj kept messing up their music so it kept stopping them from rapping. one good thing about that dj. HA! siighhh...........but it was a fun birthday. it's the ppl that you're with that counts. one word for this place....... EW!

Harlot: "prostitute; a person who engages in sexual intercourse for money." And worth every penny.  Located down an alley with no distinguishable signage, the place is not easy to find but that adds to the appeal.  Walking through the darkened doorways, I felt like I was being led into a secret club.  What's the password?  Lust. The lush decor, the tables surrounded by beautiful women and well dressed men, the DJ holding court on a raised dais in front of the dance floor beneath a huge painting of a naked woman...what the hell is not to love about this place? The VIP area upstairs looks down onto the dance floor.  With a separate bar, its own restroom and comfortable plush white couches, it is my favorite part of this club.  Harlot could be transplanted to Manhattan and fit right in.  This is what a big city bar/club should feel like.  Swanky and pretentious.  I love it!
