by Jazmine C. on 4 Stars for: -The HUGE fish tank is legit and a MUST see!! -Went on a Tuesday afternoon= not crowded as other reviewers kept saying it would be. -Penguin crawl area brings you face to face with a penguin. -Petting areas: Sting-rays and shrimp (Yes, you can pet shrimps!) -The place is clean! I didn't get that sitting water scent you usually get in places with water all over the place. I live in San Diego, CA and I'd rather buy a season pass to the Georgia Aquarium than to SeaWorld. After seeing the aquarium on "The little Couple" a few weeks ago I thought to myself "I want to go there!" Imagine my excitement when I realized my transfer flight from NYC to LA would take me to Atlanta for 10 hours! If you get the chance to transfer planes in Atlanta and not in a hurry to get to your destination, make sure you have a good 5hours (10 was a little much). Just hop on the MARTA (train system) and purchase a round trip ($4) pass and take a short walk by the CNN building then through a park and you're at Georgia Aquarium. Other observation: Was it just us (my two friends with me) but is it always that empty in Atlanta? Or were we just expecting more people after coming from NYC? None the less once you get over the feeling you're in a Resident Evil movie... you won't regret the experience. Minus 1 Star because: During lunch there are plenty of posters and signs about recycling and conserving but why does everything come extra wrapped and on paper and plastic plates instead of reusable materials?
by Pearlene Quenzer on I like several things about this place, the decor, the layout, how relaxed people seem to be here for the most part. My biggest problem to date was that the bar tender lady-man treats people like a commodity. First of all this is the number one rule of service that the customers are first human and btw, also have money in their back pocket. So that should be the first approach right... well that was not this persons approach, first she let me spend like 60 bucks no problem on alcohol to the point i was pretty drunk and then just at the point I asked her for 3 glasses of water for me and my friends she got all bent out of shape, refused to give me three, shrugged her shoulders, gave me the scawly eye and gave me just one water. WTF was all I wanted to know. I just needed to get some water man, that's it. So, I took the rest of my money down to Dragon/8 and spent my other 60. F*ck her, and I hope i never have to go back there and deal with her attitude again!!! I can only guarantee that She will never get another dime from me!
