by Penny Wilterdink on Came here with my bf and friend, hoping for a quick and delicious Italian Dinner. Definitely chose the wrong night for that! Even though this place is one story, the low ceilings and dim lighting makes this place feel like a cramped basement. Though on the flip side, it does feel like an authentic family-style restaurant with plenty of cool pictures and portraits hung up on all the aged wood walls. We waited for about 50 min to be seated, which was a bit much, especially since our wait time at the bar ended up being much longer than our actual dinner time. We were greeted by our server who gave us a great run down of the specials and his recommendations. Then he brought over the BEST garlic bread any of us have ever eaten. It was so delicious. Buttery, but not oily. Toasty, but not overly flakey. Just perfect! Despite how busy the restaurant was, we surprisingly got our food relatively quickly. If you're looking to save a few bucks, get the Eggplant Parmesan w/ a side of pasta. It is so good and well prepared and you can get plenty stuffed for a fraction of what the other meals cost. Overall, our meals were pretty good, but we all wished we had a bit more pasta in each of our orders. A bit of a peeve was when we all got the bill. We wrote down our respective amounts for each of our cards on the bill, but when it came back to us, the bill was split evenly 3 ways. When we requested a change our server said "I can't guarantee anything!" Wait what???!! You can't guarantee that we will be charged our appropriate amount?! A bit frustrating, but in the end (and after a good wait) the situation was resolved. I understand mistakes and stress from a busy night, but I would only come here from now on, on a less busy weeknight. My experience was really worth 2.5 stars, but the garlic bread is rounding this rating up
by Alesha Clagon on This place is a solid 4 in my book. The value is on on par, you dont feel like your getting a steal here but more importantly you def dont feel like your being ripped. The spicy tuna pizza is pretty novel style sushi roll and I found the chicken with cashews to be a good portion presented nicely. The rolls are fairly pricey but are a generous portion. The decor of this place is impressive, despite being located between a publix and a bar aptly named "BJ", Rain is a classy joint with a nice feel inside. Whether your sitting at a table on a date watching the waterfall because the broad thinks talking about bible class or reality shows is interesting, or your with friends catching the game at the sushi bar or just sitting in the window booths to watch an assortment of logo network fans shuffle in and out of the neighboring establishments. Rain is solid bet for good dining.
