by Becky F. on Why does EVERYONE on rateclubs seem to love the lobster mac & cheese??? It is really not as stellar as the hype would suggest. Perhaps it was my expectation that it would be mind-numbingly delicious, but I was thoroughly underimpressed. Firstly, for the love of noodles, please tell me why one thinks that orzo would ever work in a mac & cheese dish. It does nothing in the way of retaining cheese and frankly it has an odd texture, especially in combination with the lobster. I am not one to salt my food left and right, but trust me, the lobster mac needed it. There just wasn't enough flavor, a soupy sort of texture, and if you ask me - too many breadcrumbs. I also sampled the shrimp quesadillas and Chilean sea bass, both of which were quite good. The Chilean sea bass was really tender and came with a yummy miso sauce. We also tried the Continental salad and edamame. The salad was rather enormous and very tasty, and the edamame was edamame. All in all, of course I would go back and of course I would recommend people try it for themsleves. Let's be serious, it's a Steven Starr restaurant so you know the ambience and presentation make everything taste better. But be forewarned: if you believe all of the hype like I did, you might end up expecting more than you'll be getting.
by Marlena Singo on Pretty good venue--a bit packed but was manageable for movement. Food was expensive but the calamari was good. Wide variety of drinks (including blueberry martinis) seemed pretty good too. Oh yeah, and the live music was great...
by Dorris Fleischacker on Went here for Super Bowl XLIII. This place is a Steelers hang out guys, and that's why I went. The game drew in a TON of Steelers fans and the place was crazy. If your a Steelers fan, this is a pretty decent place to go on game day. I cannot comment on the bowling here other than the lanes look amazing. Tons of synchronized neon and some good music. The prices seemed reasonable enough. On the bar side, I had the wings which were pretty good, and the chicken quesadilla, also good. A bit more expensive than I would have suggested but, like I said, we were there for the Super Bowl so I wasn't too concerned. One thing I was disappointed about though was the lack of HD screens. They've got 3 large standard def. screens and a load of smaller standard def. wide screens. No, those smaller screen are not HD. Watching sports here would be REALLY great if they would upgrade and get some awesome HD projectors.
