by Kelly E. on i really want to like it here, it comes so close to being likable, but then it fails miserably. firstly, its disgustingly crowded here. you can almost never find a place to sit unless it's raining and even when you do it's sort of uncomfortable with people's butts in your face and practically sitting on your shoulder waiting for you to get up. it's also a bit of a shit show. it's like being at one of those really quick takeout counters, throwing bows to get your food when/if you hear your number being called. oh yea and the food? it's good but you might as well be at an actual restaurant for what you're paying for. which leads me to.. DID YOU JUST CHARGE ME OVER FIFTY DOLLARS FOR A PITCHER OF SHITTY SANGRIA THAT YOU MADE JUST NOW?! i'm sorry, it's over.

It was the "punk rock" fraternity, and it resided in the world's sketchiest West Philly rowhouse (at least prior to burning down and then being rehabilitated from the ground up). Lo-Fi would seem pretty familiar to my 18 year-old self! Probably-not-up-to-fire-code architecture, plastic "window panes", broke-down couches, coed bathroom, home-painted walls... If you are looking for a schmancy night out, this is probably not it. However, if you want to get down and DANCE, this is the spot! I haven't seen this many people dancing in Seattle, ever. The $10 cover is a little steep, and I'd like it better if it came with a free drink (but then, if wishes were cupcakes, I'd have a cupcake.) I don't know if it's just on Soul Club nights, but they actually powder the dance floor! Go on, get ready to strut your stuff, you cool cat.
