by Matthew P. on Straight couple went in after the ING Marathon...great time, good patrons and bartender. We were not looked at oddly or treated differently than the gay patrons/regulars. Definitely a dive bar - drinks were pretty cheap as well.
by Jennie Hawkey on I went to Amalia during restaurant week, and tried the tasting menu. While I loved the decor, and the dessert was fabulous, the food was was simply ok. While the menu descriptions sounded exciting and original the taste was not. In fact it was rather bland. I wasn't in the mood to finish my meal and even less excited about the leftovers the next day. Maybe my expectations going in were a little too high, but overall the experience was disappointing. The friend that was with me loved it, so hey, maybe it's just me.
