I'm so used to going other places and ordering my sandwich on sourdough bread and wondering "did they give me plain white bread, or is this their idea of sourdough?" that when I took a bite of my sandwich here I was shocked--HURRAH! I TASTE SOURDOUGH! My sandwich was fresh and tasty. I picked off some sprouts, but I'd always rather have too much of something than feel like it's lacking. I don't like the handful of bagged potato chips it comes with, can I just get $0.20 knocked off the price and opt out of having them? Along with my sandwich I got a chocolate chip cookie that looked unassuming, but turned out to be the best chocolate chip cookie I've ever had, and a yummy iced tea that made me wish they did 44oz sizes. Your bill will be a little more if you want to take your food to-go, but I'm all for their decision to use earth-friendly materials (keep in mind that some places charge you a take-out packing fee, even if they're using styrofoam!).

I ain't afraid to say it, but I drink the Top Chef Kool-Aid on the regular. I totally rooted for Richard Blais, the hometown homeslice, when he was on the show. Nerdy & quirky, he was likable. I knew other folks felt the same way, so my hubs and I timed our Flip visit around the huddled masses (no Friday or Saturday night). We  went on a Sunday. At 5 pm. There were kids and grannies hanging from the rafters. The thing that was a bit off-putting for us (see: -1 star) was the restaurant lay out is not conducive for hanging out after your meal. It feels like a cold-ish & modern diner. The whole get in & out. I am sure that was on purpose (see grannies hanging from the rafters) to encourage turning tables & volume-sales, but it felt awkward and unnecessarily stiff. The place is wee. Very small. That being said, I am a fan. Sat at the bar after a bit of a wait, had a great bartender who knew her stuff, and gorged on pounds of meat. Had the tartar burger- it was delicious. Fries with smoked mayo- delightful. I'm hoping Blaise is very successful in all his restaurants cause his food is great and nerds rule.

opera is pretty cool.  i was most impressed with the outdoor lounge/hangout setup.  The staff is really cool, esp. my fav. bartender Evan!!  he is the shit. the music was ok.  the smokey stuff was fun. not sure if i would pay the cover though, luckily i was on "the list" to get in, which i am not sure how difficult it really is to be on the list to begin with but anyway. i couldn't have cared less what the crowd was like.  when i go someone i go to have fun with my friends and nothing else really matters.. so on that note, we all had a blast!  check it out.
