by Meryl H. on I've been to Bruno's a few times. I always have a good time when I go. It's close to the bart station. The drinks are pretty solid and not too expensive. I like the interior space also. And people usually dress pretty casual here on the nights that I've gone so that's always nice. The bouncers are nice here too, in my opinion. On new years eve, my boyfriend lost his keys and we went back a few days later and they found them and were super nice about it. They had some food out on new years eve. The pulled pork sandwiches were really good! So were the biscuits they had out. Those are the only two items I remember. The music is usually top 40-ish...sometimes its a little more hip hop and other times a little more electronica. Theres not a whole lot of dancing space in the main room. I know there's a lounge area upstairs with what looked like stripper poles, but I'm never sure if that's a private party area or not so I usually go back downstairs. Also, the restrooms only have 2 stalls and Bruno's gets pretty busy on friday and saturday nights. So prepare to wait in a long line, ladies.

What Woody's can offer, though, is a summertime break from the overcrowding, the cigarette smoke, the smell of spilled alcohol, and the stale air found in most other Royal Oak nightspots. That is, Woody's outdoor rooftop is only somewhat overcrowded, not quite as smoky, and not so smelly either... it's really almost a breathe of fresh Michigan air. Avoid Woody's whenever you'll be stuck indoors, but its rooftop is a must on any warm, summer (spring or fall) night.
