Fun times! Not *too* overpriced for the area or the fact that you're on a boat, and a very laid-back, casual atmosphere, especially since there are no waitresses, an open kitchen, and well... you're on a dirty old boat. I would recommend this place for a group of friends looking to get some beer, food, and have a nice view, and would certainly recommend this place for a first or second date... it's cute and romantic without it being fancy and expensive. There's also a ton to talk about, with all the scenery around. Food was good, and didn't take more than 10-15 minutes. Only four stars because the two bartenders working Monday night were really bad.

I write about the Roosevelt a lot. It's one of my five favourite places in the world. No Joke. I've stayed here a total of twice in my life. I've also more or less lived in the lobby for a couple of years. I go to LA for any reason, I find myself at the lobby of the roosevelt, drinking pricey mixed drinks (my sweet lord they make an amazing Manhattan) and sitting in the comfortable and beautiful restored lobby. The rooms are comfy. Very comfy. They're big and pricey (Expedia and various other sites have good prices most weekends) and the bathrooms are Rick Dickulous-ly awesometacious! I love them so much. The place is ultra-comfy but not in the way that the place was designed to be a comfy tourist place. It sorta became a comfy tourist place. The lobby is better than any other lobby in LA. Period. I may be biased because they knew me there back in the mid-1990s and I didn't even have to order any more, a hostess would bring me a drink whenever I arrived to work on whatever I was working on. It's also a place where you might find a celebrity (that's where I met Leiv Schreiber and got him to play a few games of Hangman with me and a friend) and it's a good place to get some rest when you're disappointed that Hollywood isn't what you thought it was. The biggest reason for the 5th star, because everything else would make it a 4-star, normally) is the bathrooms. If you find yourself needing to answer the call and you're in the area, head to the Rossevelt bathrooms, the ones on the lowest level. They're amazing and comfy and kept remarkably clean.
