by Damian Luecke on I like the atmosphere of this place. Hands down the coolest place to have a cup of coffee during the daytime. I love the fireplace! The negative review is because they never have quarters for me. I always drive here and BOTH times they couldn't make change for me. I even gave them $3 and asked them to pull out two dollars of quarters from their tip jar and they couldn't even do that for me. Instead, they sent me down to the liquor store. I wish they would have given me change and ran to the bank instead. Management, please fix this problem. Keep a few rolls of quarters in your cafe at all times. I really, really want to love this place but you guys make it so inconvenient for drivers!!
by Ernie Corte on This is a review for the CLUB. Roe is one of my favorite clubs in SF. It has to do with multiple factors: Decor, music, and drinks. Decor: The inside is really nice compared to most clubs in SF (which are old, run down, and small). The club is split into 3 levels: top floor = hiphop with a bar and some VIP tables, ground floor = house music/some hip hop remixes with a bar and lounge area, basement = house music with also some chairs and lounge chairs. Each floor is decorated pretty nicely. Music; this can definitely be a hit or miss... but most of the times I have been here, I've had a good time. Drinks: The drinks are made really well here, compared to the shitty drinks at Temple. Roe actually makes the kamikazes with real lemon juice, and it's not weak. Drinks are average SF prices, about $10 for grey goose shots. The quality of their drinks tops Temple by far, and lots of other places. They know how to make lots of cocktails and shooters. The bars can just get pretty crowded at times There is a guestlist, so try to get on the Glist.... otherwise you have to pay $20 to get in. Usually free before 11pm. Sometimes there can be a long line... and sometimes not... depends on the DJ for that night. Coat check is $3.
by Spike S. on We went here to have a drink and snack on the rooftop bar. We found a nice view and a staff talking to each other. 5 minutes later, the view was still nice and the staff was still talking to each other. 10 minutes later, the view was still nice and the staff was still talking to each other. 15 minutes later, the view was still nice and the staff was still talking to each other. 20 minutes later, I'm sure the view was still nice and the staff was still talking to each other, and we were walking down to Foreign Cinema for a drink and a snack. Minor update: I happened to see an ad for Medjool and the headline was "It's taken centuries to master our Mediterranean tapas." The ideal tag line to this is "And it takes just as long to get them to your table."
