Club 8 is okay. It's not my fav place in the city primarily because it's got an odd layout, and not the best selections of Vodka. With that said some of the events they have here: Wet 'n Wild, Big Top, etc. are really good and pull a large diverse crowd that wouldn't normally hit up the Folsom area. Some of the covers are outrageous. There are a lot of clubs you can go to that charge nothing to get into, and I am not a real fan of spending $8-10 just to get in when that could go to drinks!

My girlfriend and I play a dancing game when we go out. It goes something like this: you imitate someone one the dance floor (the weirder the better), and then the other person has to guess who you're imitating. I know, mean, right? Sometimes you just have to make your own fun. To the point: the Starlight Room is a GREAT place to play our game. Why? Mostly tourists, young and old, equally cheesy. I saw an old man with a cowboy hat on, busting a move on the dance floor. I saw an older gentleman getting groovy with his wife who was at least 20 years his junior. I saw some really, really funny dancers. Not that I'm Miss Dancing Queen- but hey, I'm sure people make fun of me too. Music: a mix of 70's, 80's, 90's, and "today." DJ as well as a live band. Great views of the city. Nice bartenders. When I requested my usual song, MJ's "Human Nature," the DJ said it's too slow of a song. I came after work in my casual Friday clothing. Women were wearing sparkly dresses, and you could tell some of these ladies haven't been out dancing in ages. There is a cover, but it's okay because you can actually spend some time kicking it here, having fun with friends, and people watching. Doubt I'll be back, but hey, glad I went. And, no, it wasn't my idea to go here.
