by Zeke A. on FUN!!!! The venue itself is divey, but the old bar in the front near the street has a lot of character...exactly what I would think of an inviting southern bar. The drinks were strong and delicious! The drag show was HILARIOUS as I was laughing my ass off at the jokes. People all around seemed happy, drunk, and just having a good time. I had a really good time here and would go again - I just wish there was dancing!
by David L. on Came here on a Saturday night hearing its one of the best hiphop spots in the city... and i completely agree with the rumors. Im a huge believer that the music/dj makes the party.. i cant stand the dj who makes the same old transitions to the same old top40 music u hear at every club. i love a DJ who can play the current hits, but also revisit old ones... aint nothing like being with all your friends and reminiscing on old hiphop hits from back in the day. some examples of songs they played were wu-tang and old school bad boy/deathrow tracks. paid a $5 cover to get in, but the door wasnt tough or pretentious... doorman was pretty amiable. had to wait for a bit to get in, and we found out why when we got inside. this place is TINY.. its basically just a small room with a bar in the back and 2 co-ed bathrooms (total) in the back. reminded me of an old school basement party... for me, as long as the party is good and the environment is a postiive, all the negatives like the crowded, hot environment become less bothersome. drinks were very reasonably priced and pretty strong... im a fan.. and will definitely be back to check it out again!
