HELLO KITTY ROOM & FULL BAR. 'Nuff said! Pandora is the swankiest karaoke bar I have ever set foot in... and it doesn't even feel like you're in the Tenderloin once you're inside. There are 13 themed private rooms for your singing pleasure, including a huge bar and lounge area where you can also sing. All rooms fit at least 10 people, so it's a great spot for parties. Their Hennessey Room fits 30-40 people, though I probably wouldn't do more than 25. There are 3 50" flat screens placed around the room, so you can watch the videos from wherever you are. They're going to work on putting in smaller rooms for parties of 5 or less. The system is state of the art (the same one used at Music Tunnel KTV in San Jose), and uses touch screen technology. The only gripe we had was that it wasn't perfect - there were certain songs/artists that didn't appear when you tried to search them under artist name but would appear under the "new songs" category. Also, it would have been easier to select songs if there was a physical song book to browse through, but it sounds like they're also working on putting that together. Ashley was our bartender and hostess for the evening, and was super friendly and accommodating. She makes a tasty BJ shot, which was perfect for our bachelorette party. The area is pretty sketch at night, so make sure you travel in a group. Parking is also a pain, but there are a few lots nearby. Otherwise, it's a choice spot to get your song on!

Morimoto..oh where to begin. My boyfriend and I walked in off the street, just looking for a place to eat that was a bit different; no burger and fries for us, no italian; something different! We passed up on Chifa to see what else there was, and right down the street was Morimoto. The windown and lights were enough to draw me in--we walked in to just look at a menu, and were told that we could be seated..Took all of two seconds to say yes. The girls at the front promptly took our jackets and we were guided into the dining area. The lighting, and tables were chic, edgy and set the mood perfectly. We sat down, ordered our drinks--Alix (our server) was very sweet and patient with us--it was definitely appreciated. We ordered the 10hr braised pork belly over rice porridge which was creamy and delicious--the textures all working in perfect harmony--the smokiness of the pork and the creamy fresh tangyness of the rice worked so well with the dish. Thats when I knew I was in heaven. I decided to splurge and order the Morimoto surf and turf--lobster and kobe beef..I have NEVER had anything so delicious in my life. Even the creamed spinach was good! My boyfriend had duck, duck, duck--duck breast which was tender, succulent and just crispy enough on the outside to offset the delicate layer of fat. A perfect duck egg, sunny side up, firm, perfect, and unlike any other egg I've ever had, overtop a risotto 'fried rice' with duck confit. Now comes the good part. Dessert. Green Tea Tiramasu, which was perfect in every way shape and form, and a delicious chocolate pot de creme - - a chocolate custard, topped with purely decadent creme fraiche, and a carmalized banana :) I would easily sell my soul for another great meal like that. The service: Fantastic--when the meals were brought to us, the aspects were explained perfectly and it was amazing how well the flavors and textures worked in perfect harmony to create the optimal dining experience The ambiance: fantastic! The lights change between green and blue, creating an edgy, serene environment which really sets the mood and provides an unheard of tranquility in the hustle and bustle in the city The drink selection: EXTENSIVE! They have something to fit every price range, and I was extremely happy with my selections--the dessert wines are to die for :) Sweet, tangy and with all the right notes. The food: I now know what all of the hype is about. Steven Starr & Morimoto: you sure as f*@% know what you're doing; I'm now going to have to try all of your restaurants! :)

I was so intrigued by the idea of an African restaurant and dance club, but the food didn't impress me. Awesome atmosphere though, which is much appreciated when you're waiting an hour for a table, filled with cool plants, "exotic" decorations, and bartenders will to serve you elaborate alcoholic concoctions.
