The menu here is divided into First, Second, Third.  The server said they recommend getting one from each section.  This is basically code for the portions are on the smaller side.  Since I normally only order a main course, I decided to blow the expense per diem and get a dish from the First and Third categories.  I opted for the baby arugula salad from the First category: aged country ham, local figs, sheep's milk ricotta dressing, fig vinaigrette.  This is a little salty from the ham and a little sweet from the figs.  A very tasty dish. From the Third category: grilled berkshire pork loin - coppa wrapped green onions, sweet corn anson mills polenta, roasted pork jus, minus 8 vinegar.   Another fine dish.

Fun idea! Getting drunk and looking at nature behind glass, I approve. It can get a bit crowded, and you can wait in long a line for a cocktail. But other then that the event is very fun and very relaxed, good crowd, good drinks. I heart Nightlife at Academy of Sciences. P.s. A good place to take an out of town friend.

Coffee shop by day.  Bar by night.  Free wifi day and night.  Sugar Cafe has some things going for it that make me like it more than alot of bars.  First and foremost the mirror image movies that are projected on the frosted window.  Such a great idea.  You can view the movie from both inside and outside of the bar. Another big plus for this bar is that one night about a month ago the door girl wouldn't let my friend in because of his shoes.  Now it should be mentioned that this particular friend is a self proclaimed fasionista.  A fashionista that likes to criticize my lazy style and enjoys telling me what a lesbian I look like.  Call me cruel, but I loved seeing the look of dread on his face as he mouth to me that they wouldn't let him in.  It truly is the small things in life that make it so sweet.
