by Aanal P. on Ahhh...Parish. Love the decor, the staff, the fact I can bring a bottle of wine and not be charged a corkage fee. Met my friends here on a cold cold night for dinner. Decided to start with a couple Parish cocktails before dinner. I had their Bee's Knees...absolutely fabulous! I had to have two so I could write a review about it :) We started with the spicy shrimp appetizer and the fried tempura like veggies. Shrimp was good and spicy. But I didn't care for the fired tempura like veggies. It didn't have any flavor really. The sauce to dip these in were okay as well. For the main course, I got the coca-cola braised ribs which were over potatoe and mushrooms....a little too much for one person alone so perhaps a good sharing dish. My friend got the fired chicken with mashed potatoes and veggies...yummmo! The best fried chicken I have had so far in a restaurant. We also got their trout dish which was light and flavorful. The main dishes were actually pretty tasty so it made up for the lack of taste in their appetizers. Now..the downstairs.... (that's where the restrooms are) is so cute. The fantastic aroma of coffee had me lingering around their for sometime. The downstairs has a long bench, where you could definitely go during the day with your laptop and just smell the coffee if you don't wanna work. It is that good. I don't know about the taste....yet. :) Overall, I will definitely go back. Food, ambiance, and coffee aroma...and oh..Bee's Knees! Also, our waiter Chance was awesome! Really fun!
by Kate F. on Yes, I am biased because I went to Marquee under special circumstances, but I had an excellent time. Nice bartenders, hot and friendly staff, good drinks (though I can't help it - I think $12 drinks and $8 beer is stupid), a fun mix of old and new music, comfortable set up upstairs (the only area I spent any time in) with room to dance and lots of communal seating. Me likey.
